AceGCSE ("we", "us") is a GCSE revision app for students. On the App Store the iOS app is listed as both AceGCSE and GCSE Maths & Science: the same app under two listings, and this policy covers both. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and your choices. We have deliberately kept data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the app: no advertising and no ad tracking. The iOS app uses Firebase Analytics to see how the app is used, and you can switch this off at any time (see Usage analytics below).

Information we handle

• Account details, only if you sign in: your email address and name via Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. You can use the core app without an account; signing in lets you join the leaderboard and keep your Pro access across devices.
• Study data: your progress, scores, streaks, bookmarks and which questions you have practised, so the app can track your mastery and resume where you left off.
• Purchase status: whether you have an active subscription or have redeemed a code. Payments are handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details.
• App identifiers: a randomly generated display name for the leaderboard and an internal account identifier. These do not identify you personally.
• Reports and feedback you send from the app: if you report a problem with a question or send us feedback (including why you cancelled a subscription), we receive your message and your account ID, with the app version and the subject, topic, question or plan it relates to where relevant. We keep this so we can fix problems, and delete it when you delete your account.
• Usage analytics (iOS app): how the app is used, as described in the next section. You can switch this off.

Usage analytics

The iOS app (AceGCSE and GCSE Maths & Science on the App Store) uses Google Firebase Analytics so we can see which parts of the app help students and which need work. It collects:

• App-usage events: for example which screens and features are used, which subject is chosen, how many free questions have been used, and whether the upgrade screen was shown and a purchase completed, was cancelled or failed.
• Device and app information: such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and session times.
• Approximate location: your country or region, worked out by Google from your IP address. The app never asks for or uses your precise location.
• An app-instance identifier: a random ID created when the app is installed, so events from the same installation can be counted together. It changes if you delete and reinstall the app.

We do not send your name, email address or account ID to Firebase Analytics, and we do not link analytics data to your account. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites: the app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and Google's advertising signals (ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation) are switched off. We use analytics only to understand and improve the app. Google keeps individual analytics events for up to 14 months, after which they are deleted automatically.

Switching it off: you can turn usage analytics off at any time in the app (under either name) in Settings > Privacy by switching off "Share usage analytics". The app then stops sending analytics data from that device until you turn it back on.

The iOS app also uses Firebase Remote Config to fetch app settings, for example where an offer appears on the Home screen. This uses a Firebase installation identifier but no personal details, and keeps working when analytics is switched off. The Android app does not use Firebase Analytics.

What we do not collect

• No advertising or third-party ad/tracking SDKs.
• No precise location, contacts or photos, and no advertising identifiers (IDFA or Android Advertising ID).

How we use information

• To provide the app: store and sync your progress and unlock purchased content.
• To run the optional leaderboard, shown under your display name, never your email.
• To understand how the app is used and improve it (usage analytics, which you can switch off).
• To respond to support requests, problem reports and feedback you send us.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase for authentication, Firestore database storage, Analytics and Remote Config, and Apple App Store and Google Play to process purchases and subscriptions. They act as our processors under their own terms: Firebase · Apple · Google.

Children and young people

AceGCSE is designed for GCSE students, typically aged 14-16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, please use the app with a parent or guardian's involvement. Parents and guardians may contact us to access or delete a child's data.

Your rights

Under UK/EU data protection law you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and object to certain processing. You can request deletion of your account and associated data using our account deletion request page, or contact us at aerion.labs@gmail.com.

Data retention and security

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request or account deletion. Analytics events are kept by Google for up to 14 months and are not linked to your account. Data is stored on Google's secure infrastructure with access restricted to the app's backend. Some processing may take place outside the UK, subject to appropriate safeguards.
